Lithium-ion fires don't behave like conventional fires.
Once a cell enters thermal runaway it generates its own heat and oxygen, drives adjacent cells
into failure, and can reignite hours after the visible flame is out. Standard powder and CO₂
extinguishers knock down flame without cooling the pack, which is why the fire comes back.
