What is this blanket for?
It's a 2m x 2m containment blanket designed for lithium-ion battery fires from e-bikes and e-scooters, including eMTB, e-road, e-cargo, folding and cruiser models. It helps contain and control a fire in the event of thermal runaway, buying time and reducing the spread to everything around it.
Why do I need a specialised blanket, not an ordinary one?
Lithium-ion battery fires behave very differently to conventional fires. They burn at extreme temperatures, can reignite after they appear to be out, and give off toxic gas. A standard household fire blanket isn't designed for these conditions. This blanket is tested to the European EN 13501 fire safety standard to help contain a lithium-ion fire.
What size is it, and where is it best used?
It's 2m x 2m and weighs about 2.2kg. That size suits e-bikes and e-scooters, and it's a practical fit for homes, workshops, garages and any facility where these are charged or stored. It's compact enough to keep close to your charging point.
Does it meet an Australian Standard?
There is currently no specific Australian Standard for lithium-ion battery fires. Our blankets are tested to the European EN 13501 fire safety standard, which gives a recognised, rigorous benchmark for performance and durability.
How do I use it in an emergency?
If it is safe to do so, cover the burning e-bike or e-scooter with the blanket to help smother the flames and contain the fire, then get clear. Do not lift the blanket to check, and do not put yourself at risk. With a little practice, deployment takes around 60 to 90 seconds, and two people can deploy it faster and more safely than one. We recommend familiarising yourself with it when it arrives, without exposing it to fire.
Will it put the fire out, and should I still call 000?
Always call 000 immediately. The blanket is designed to contain and control a fire until emergency services arrive, not to replace them. A lithium-ion battery can stay hot and reignite, so treat it as dangerous even if the flames appear to be out, keep everyone clear, and let the fire brigade handle it.
Does it expire, and how do I store it?
The blanket has no fixed expiry date, but you should inspect it regularly for damage and keep it in its storage bag. Store it somewhere easy to reach near your charging or storage area, wall-mounted or in a clearly labelled spot. It's suited to garage storage and normal temperature variation; avoid prolonged moisture or chemical contact.
Is it reusable?
The blanket is intended as single-use emergency protection. Once it has been used on a fire, replace it. If you're unsure whether a blanket is still fit for use after any incident or damage, don't rely on it, contact us and replace it.
Is it suitable for workshops, fleets or commercial use?

What about shipping and warranty?
The blanket comes with a 12-month warranty. Shipping is calculated at checkout based on your location, and shipping is free Australia wide on orders over $500. Because this is safety equipment, returns are subject to our standard return policy, contact us if you have any questions.
