How to store and move e-bike batteries safely
Share
E-bike and e-scooter batteries hold a lot of energy in a compact pack, and they spend a lot of time charging in garages, hallways and workshops. When one fails, an ordinary shelf or box does nothing to slow it down. A purpose-built containment bag does, and it gives you a safe way to store and move batteries you're not sure about.
Built for bigger batteries
The Premium Lithium-Ion Battery Bag is the larger, heavier-duty option in the range, with a generous 42 x 38 x 22cm internal space for e-bike and e-scooter batteries, power-tool packs, machinery cells, portable power stations and everyday devices.
Dual-layer protection
What sets it apart is a two-layer system. The exterior is silicone-coated fibreglass rated to withstand continuous 550°C and peaks up to 1100°C. Inside, a reflective aluminium lining bounces radiant heat back inward and adds a further barrier of flame resistance, helping protect the area around the bag. At just 0.5mm thick, it delivers that protection without the bulk of a rigid box.
Made to carry
Unlike a fixed fireproof cabinet, this bag is built to move. Reinforced handles and backpack-style straps make it easy to transport a battery safely, and a heavy-duty zip keeps everything contained in storage and transit. It's a practical choice for riders, tradespeople, workshops and anyone who needs to store or move lithium-ion batteries with more peace of mind.
When to reach for it
Use it to isolate a damaged, swollen or recalled battery straight away, to contain batteries during storage, and to transport cells safely. If a battery shows any warning sign, swelling, heat, odour, discolouration or leaking, get it into the bag and away from anything combustible until it can be disposed of properly. And remember: containment buys time, it doesn't replace the fire brigade. In any real emergency, get clear and call 000.
