When Seconds Count: The 9L EV Fire Extinguisher

EV Fire Solutions · Field Notes
When seconds count, cooling is everything.
Lithium-ion battery fires ignite fast, burn extreme, and can reignite hours later. The 9L suppression unit is built for exactly that.
Lithium-ion battery fires don't behave like the fires most extinguishers were built for. They ignite fast, burn extremely hot, and can reignite hours after they first appear to be out. That's exactly the scenario our largest suppression unit — the 9L EV Fire Extinguisher — is engineered for.
01 — THE PROBLEMBuilt for the way battery fires actually burn
A conventional ABC or CO2 extinguisher might knock down visible flames, but it doesn't address what's really happening inside a lithium-ion pack: thermal runaway. Once a cell overheats, it drives its neighbours to do the same, and the fire feeds itself.
The 9L unit takes a different approach. Its advanced formulation is designed to rapidly cool the high-temperature battery, suppress the fire, and help prevent re-ignition — giving you a genuine first response instead of a temporary knock-down.
02 — THE FITWhy the 9L?
As our biggest-capacity unit, the 9L is suited to the places where a smaller extinguisher simply isn't enough:
Electric cars
Full-sized coverage for the family EV or the daily driver.
Home charging stations
Protection right where the risk sits — at the wall charger.
Warehouses, fleets & commercial
Where multiple vehicles or battery storage raise the stakes.
Smaller application? It's also available in 1L for e-bikes and e-scooters, and 4L for mid-sized vehicles and home use — so you can match the unit to the risk.
Suppression Unit · Specifications
There is currently no Australian Standard specific to lithium-ion battery fires. This unit complies with the recognised European and international standard EN 3-7:2004 + A1:2007.
03 — IN AN EMERGENCYSimple to use when it matters
You don't want to be reading instructions mid-emergency. The 9L uses a straightforward PASS operation, with the focus on cooling the battery pack area:
This unit is designed to help you contain and control a fire until help arrives — not to replace the fire brigade. Always call 000 immediately in any EV fire emergency.
Don't wait for the emergency.
EV fires are rare — but fast and severe when they happen. Keep the right protection near your vehicles, chargers and battery storage.
