Frequently asked questions
What's included?
A 1L EV fire suppression unit for lithium-ion battery fires, plus a wall mounting bracket, so it arrives ready to mount rather than needing a bracket bought separately. It's sized for e-bikes, e-scooters and smaller lithium devices.
Why does the bracket matter?
In an emergency, seconds count. A wall-mounted unit stays exactly where you need it, visible and within reach, rather than buried in a cupboard or the boot. Mounting it by your charging point means it's the first thing to hand if something goes wrong.
How do I install the bracket?
The bracket fixes to a wall with standard fixings suited to your surface. Mount it where you charge or store your e-bike or e-scooter, at a height that's easy to reach in a hurry, and clear of clutter. Keep the unit clipped in so it's always ready.
What is the extinguisher itself for?
The 1L suppression unit is formulated to rapidly cool a high-temperature lithium-ion battery fire and help prevent re-ignition, giving you a fast first response for e-bikes, e-scooters and smaller lithium devices at home.
Which size should I choose, 1L, 4L or 9L?
The 1L is right-sized for e-bikes, e-scooters and smaller lithium devices, and for personal and home use. For mid-sized EVs and larger home setups the 4L suits better, and for larger EVs, commercial and fleet use choose the 9L. If you're unsure, contact us and we'll help you match it to what you're protecting.
Does it meet a standard?
There is currently no Australian Standard specific to lithium-ion battery fires. This suppression unit complies with the European and international standard EN 3-7:2004 + A1:2007.
How do I use it, and should I still call 000?
Follow the PASS method: Pull the pin, Aim at the base of the fire or the battery area, Squeeze the handle, and Sweep from side to side, focusing on cooling the battery. Only tackle a small fire in its early stages and only if it is safe. Always call 000 immediately, this unit is a first response to help contain and cool a fire until the brigade arrives, not a replacement for them. A lithium-ion battery can stay hot and reignite, so once you're clear, let the professionals handle it.
How do I maintain and inspect it?
Carry out a monthly visual check: confirm the pressure gauge sits in the green zone, the pin and seal are intact, and there's no physical damage, and that the unit is secure in its bracket. Inspect it annually and service it in line with the manufacturer's specifications. Replace it if the gauge shows a loss of pressure, or once it has been used.
Where can I mount it, and can it be reused?
Mount it near where you charge or store your e-bike or e-scooter. It suits home and garage mounting and normal temperature variation; avoid prolonged moisture or chemical contact. It cannot be reused: once discharged, even partially, replace the unit and fit a fresh one in the bracket.
What about warranty and shipping?
The unit carries a 12-month warranty. Shipping is calculated at checkout based on your location, and shipping is free Australia wide on orders over $500. As safety equipment, returns are subject to our standard return policy, contact us with any questions.
